EVOLVER![]() "WHATS THE STORY?" EVOLVER LAUNCHES THEIR SECOND ALBUM - It has been two years of performing and touring and now the four premier rockers from Evolver are ready to launch What's the Story?, their second album to date. Commenting on the album title and the carefully thought out order of songs, keyboard player Sean Murphy says "It is always good to give our fans something to think about, giving them an opportunity to figure out what the album means to them". Front man Peter Pote adds "It is great to see more fans singing along to our new tracks even before the album has been launched". Go All The Way" and "Pretty Thing" are two songs off the new album that are already playlisted nationally. Evolver decided to introduce a ballad into the album, featuring SA's very own diva, Buli G. Peter Pote's rock style makes for an epic love song as these two release a duet, a first for the band. Staying true to their raw old school rock roots, that have earned them respect from fans of all ages over their seven years as Evolver, their new album promises to add more to SA's Rock industry, to once again impress South Africa as well as put Evolver on the map Internationally. "It is the most balanced album we have created, and have spent a whole year on material and recording", adds Sean. Since the band regained their independence from their previous management company in the beginning of 2008, opportunities have been flooding their way, and the band decided to produce the entire album themselves. "We now have control over every aspect of our business, it is a lot more work, but with a whole lot more benefits", continues Sean. Rudi Norval, the brand ambassador from Jose Cuervo, the bands primary sponsor, had this to say, "The mutually beneficial relationship we have with Evolver has proven to work extremely well and we strongly believe in their new album and its success, we want to stand beside them and assist them to build their brand as best as we can, as they do for us." The band is setting off on a rigorous six week "What's the story tour" around South Africa; every major city has an opportunity to see for themselves why this album takes SA music to yet another greater level. Giveaways, competitions and their new look merchandise will add to the hype around this new album. Evolver aims to target the student market and have enlisted the expertise of student media gurus, Student Village. Student Village will assist Evolver through interaction with campus media as well as online profiling through www.studentvillage.co.za. Jono Dicks, manger at Student Village says, "We are proud to be associated with Evolver on the tour or their second album. For Student Village this is an exciting initiative and one which we want to grow going forward. It also is an opportunity to offer the student market a really exciting band in Evolver." The official launch will take place on Sunday 25th May at The Theatre on The Square in Sandton City. SA has a lot to look forward to in terms of gigs and joint branding ventures as the band simply does what they love, play Rock 'n Roll!
