Atheriel is a singer/songwriter and pianist from Johannesburg. Influenced at an early age by songs like “The Phantom of the Opera” and Queen’s “Princes of the Universe”, Atheriel’s music is a fusion of moody lyrics, dark piano ballads and heavy metal.

Writing poetry since she can remember, Atheriel never imagined that those poems would soon turn into emotive pieces of music. By the time she began recording in 2006 she had already written over 40 different songs. In 2008, Atheriel released her Captured EP which includes 6 tracks. Atheriel is currently playing at various live music venues in and around Johannesburg showcasing her latest material.

Biography

As the name Couch explains, this band is about being down to earth and non pretentious. This does't mean low in energy as the band's music ranges from soft acoustic ballads to rough and dirty blues riffs. Combined experience of four different member from different genres gives this band a unique sound and feel. Even though this band is relatively new, all the members have been involved in the music industries for some time.

Josh and Christian have been playing together since the beginning of 2009.They first met in 2006 at a music school in Johannesburg.

After both moving to pretoria for different opportunities they started playing guitar together regularly.

Joshua has been playing guitar since the year 2000 and Chritian has been playing since 2002.Joshua is currently studying jazz at pretoria tech and christian is currently studying archeology at the university of pretoria.

after writing songs and finding a name they hit the road and travelled up the coast stopping and playing wherever there was an opportunity.

Described as a wordsmith and storyteller, Nate Maingard writes music which takes his listeners on a journey of thought-provoking sensation, inspired emotion and foot tapping catchiness.
