The Urban Art and Fashion, a divers selection of art and fashion for a divers city, urban, smart and in style fashion for the current eye

inasmuch (Niklas Zimmer, Brendon Bussy and Garth Erasmus) and invited artists

This is a mini-concert experiment in sound, art and audience.

Mbira attacks, drums counter and mandolin returns provide an unexpected and wholly spontaneous encounter between three seasoned improvisors using drums, saxophone, mandolin, African instruments and surprise.

Arts and Heritage Bus back on the road

Especially for the Celebrate Durban season, the popular Arts Bus and its sister the Heritage Bus will alternate, visiting galleries and heritage attractions.

Ethekwini Municipality, Durban Tourism and The Visual Arts Network of South Africa present the Free Arts and Heritage Bus for the Celebrate Durban season. The Arts Bus will run on September 4 and September 18 and the Heritage Bus on September 11 and September 25.

This free hop-on, hop-off city bus allows arts lovers to visit eight of the city’s premier galleries and some of the city’s top heritage attractions in a day.

“Arts for all” is going to be the rallying cry at this year’s bumper National Arts Festival, 20 June – 4 July, where five exciting street theatre productions will hit the streets of Grahamstown, promising to offer a rich cultural experience in which all can join freely.

“Street theatre is a vital art form at the National Arts Festival. This year’s programme is a colourful celebration which challenges the pre-defined structures of walls and stages,” said Festival Director Ismail Mahomed. “It offers a place to re-invent the relationships between art and audience, and it will most certainly be the place where the audience gets to perform, dance, sing along and celebrate with the artists,” he added.

NuL will be performing an unplugged set at the opening of the Pandora exhibition.
