Hitting the stage on November 23rd for Friday Nite LIVE! is powerful jazz/funk trio Acid Blues. Consisting of funding member and super-talented jazz guitarist James Kibby, renowned funk/blues/punk bassist Maurice Paliaga and experienced session drummer Richard Pickett, this is a collaboration that is sure to impress.

Fresh off his tour with Johnny Clegg, accomplished singer/songwriter John Ellis hits the stage on October 19 for Friday Nite LIVE! The Durban muso is best known as the talented guitarist and vocalist for internationally acclaimed band Tree63. Having enjoyed success with the band in America, John returned to SA to pursue a solo career. Catch him on Friday night along with Johnny Clegg drummer and percussionist extraordinaire Barry van Zyl, where they’ll be playing tracks from John’s recently launched acoustic album ‘Rural’.

Taking to the Brampton Sound Stage on Friday September 14 is upbeat 7-piece ensemble the Swingsetters. This unique band blends swing, blues and rock & roll to produce a bubbly sound that will have feet tapping and heads bopping. Formed in 2009, the band is made up of seven highly trained and accomplished musicians who have all had success in local and UK based bands. Get your dancing shoes out for this one!

Taking to the Brampton Sound Stage on July 6 for Friday Night LIVE! is Cape Town reggae band the Rivertones. Formed by experienced musician Roland Geoffery Nair in 2006, the Rivertones have played at major festivals across the country. Their frontman has been performing since he was 12 and has jammed with the likes of “The Wailers” (Bob Marley’s band). These reggae masters are sure to impress.
