So it was like this you see...

There we were, all excited and ready for a weekend on the road filled with music and loose women, puddling steadily along in the old orange combi when the smoke began to billow from the exhaust.

Would we make it to Pringle Bay? We could only hope.

Then, just kilometers from our destination *choke, the combi died. Just DIED. We tried everything. Mouth to mouth, CPR, none of it worked. So we were forced to telephone ahead to Perigators and inform them of the situation. Lucky they sent someone to tow us the last few K's and we made in time for our gig which turned out to be loads of fun!

But then...

We still had to get home to Stanford.

Come and join some of Pietermaritzburg's top musicians as they get together to pay homage to one of the world's greatest rock bands.

Rolling Stones tribute sets will be performed by The Gloucester Blues Project, The Splayed Ferrets and the Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters.

It should be awesome night, so head down to the Red Door for some tasty rock and roll. The first band is scheduled for 8pm.

Line-up of live bands followed by Trance DJs after midnight, Lamb on the spit, a cash bar, food and drink stalls and a killer dance floor!

Spend the night in a tent on Craig's Campsite or just drive home, only 20mins from Hermanus. Or... STAY UP ALL NIGHT AND DANCE! It's new year :)

I’m not sure what network this was supposed to be for, or who was being showcased to, but with such an impressive lineup especially in the middle of a week that bridges other big events on both ends, I didn’t care.

I’m starting to get a little picky about what bands I follow, and which gigs I attend, basically because I’m bored of seeing and hearing all the same stuff over and over again. So what attracted me to this gig was that despite hearing many good things about them, I had only seen one out of the five of the acts on the bill before. Also that it had a fairly diverse range of genres being presented. Variety is the spice of life.
