Jazz Forte gives audiences instantly recognizable melodies with Warren’s velvet vocals whereas the vast majority of jazz bands in Cape Town are purely instrumental.

SHOUT is fronted by sax man, Dan Shout, who brings his brand of tenor sax-driven, Jazz Fusion. Guitar maestro, Gorm Helfjord, is featured heavily throughout the set along with a very exciting young player, Romy Brauteseth on double bass and none other than Mr. Jonno Sweetman on drums.

SHOUT takes to the stage Tagore’s (49 Trill Road, Observatory) on Wednesday, February 1st from 21:30 – 00:00. Admission is free.

Friday 25th November and every Fridays in December come and listen to Dj Fred Spider & Guest playing the best of Swing, Jazz, 50’s R’n’Blues, Jive, Boogie, Twist, Surf, Electro Swing, Nu-Jazz & Exotic flavors, it's free and happy!

The Dahlings are stacking their vintage army chest in front of a backdrop of blockbuster movie montages and swinging tunes in 3-part harmony.

After its initial workshop-run in The Fringe at the Joburg Theatre in 2010, Cinema Wow had a make-over and was taken to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown where this extended version got rave reviews and numerous requests to return to Joburg.

Nadia Beukes, Elizma Badenhorst and Nacia Kruger started The Dahlings about 3 years ago and have been at it ever since.

The concerts kick-off with the brilliant jazz pianist and vocalist Melissa van der Spuy. Melissa is a freelance composer, performer and arranger working in Stellenbosch, South-Africa. Educated in Jazz composition & orchestration at UCT as well as music production at the London School of Sound.

There is a slight twist with the series this year as each of the performers will be bringing an up and coming artist with them to open the gig. It will be interesting to see who Melissa believes is the future of South African music.

Hailed as The Jazz Maestros, Chilli & Lime is a vibrant young jazz band that has firmly established itself on the South African jazz scene. Since their inception in 2006, Chilli & Lime has performed alongside great South African artists, including HHP, Mango Groove and Judith Sephuma. The line-up includes Johannesburg’s finest talent performing traditional jazz and African favourites.
