A Boy Called Wolf Ears is launching a powerful set of indie pop songs at Newtown's Unity Gallery on Saturday the 28th May.

A guy. A guitar. A very good producer. It's the stuff of mythical music legends, but we all know that a quality set of songs, simply but thoughtfully put together, remains a rarity. Nonetheless, Joburg-based singer songwriter A Boy Called Wolf Ears is giving this status quo a quiet middle finger as he launches his eponymous first album.

John McHattie - Top Class Entertainer

John's Biography ::

"I began songwriting before I knew how to read or write properly. Those first memories were sitting under a tree, singing songs off the top of my head as I had no preconceptions as to what a song had to be but experienced a great deal of joy attempting it.

I discovered I had talent when I was in Grade 5, auditioned for school concerts and got the part as a result of the audition. This was really good for my young little ego and I was so proud. My parents, although they were happy for me, always gave me that "It's a nice hobby" line.

The Layders

The Layders

The layders is band or rather a music collective consisting of three members Teboho a.k.a. Scott Ross, Mothusi a.k.a. Derran Fords and Khensane aka Ckenz Voucal. The very essence of what the layders are is music with no boundaries and that’s why they cannot be associated with any specific genre. The most prominent though of some of the genres that we do are Hip Hop, Neo soul, House, Latin American music like the mimosa, Jazz, Kwaito, Funk, the lists goes on and on. The point is that we are a music band and not constraint to specific genre.

Background of the members.
