It’s been just over two weeks since the 7th annual Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition wrapped on September 3rd and organisers are reflecting on the resounding success of the 2010 event. According to the Moshito administration, based in Newtown, Johannesburg, Moshito 2010 attracted an average of 370 delegates over each of its three-days (September 1st to September 3rd) – a remarkable feat given the challenging economic environment that faces the music industry. There was no shortage of input from delegates at yesterday’s conference sessions on the second day of the 2010 Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition.
One of these was the session on Needletime. Sub-titled ‘The SA Industry’s Copyright Dilemma’, the breakaway session at Museum Africa saw panelists field tough questions from artists, producers and more.

The 2010 Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition got off to a busy start on September 1st as delegates streamed into Museum Africa, Newtown, to take part in day one of the jam-packed conference programme.
The event was opened by the Director General of the Department of Arts and Culture, Themba Wakashe, and the MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation at the Gauteng Provincial Government, Ms Nelisiwe Moerane.

Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition, in partnership with artists, musicians, DJs, music venues and operators, restaurants, the Newtown Improvement District and Gauteng Provincial Government, has assembled a collection of music showcases and exhibitions that deliver something for everyone – be it Gauteng residents or visitors to the province.
