The Inspiration

Inspired by jazz greats Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong and more recently Sting & Michael Buble, Jazz Forte, brings you mood music at its best by infusing their unique take on timeless jazz standards with subtle contemporary flare.

Our Uniqueness

Jazz Forte gives audiences instantly recognizable melodies with Warren’s velvet vocals whereas the vast majority of jazz bands in Cape Town are purely instrumental.

Mood Music

born and raised in texas. two young musicians try to collaborate folk blues and hard rock as one. with no band name set in stone, the name "littrel and curliss" is temporarily in use. chris curliss on guitar and vocals and travis littrel on drums. originally, the two started out as a metal jam duo. later discovering a new love for simple and melodic songs, the two later combined their heavier influences with softer acoustic tones. most of their songs began as acoustic folk, and later were transformed into heavier power pop songs. deciding to leave behind metal for now, the two still remain to not only make folk rock, but also add a tasteful hint of punk and hard rock. ultimately, a sound that is not too soft nor too heavy.

The times they are a-changin'. It would seem that more and more we think back to the old days of the original Nile Crocodile and all the great Rock bands that used to play there. Now we look around and there are no more venues left like Nile and most of the bands that used to play with us have also moved on. Our line-up features founding members of old Nile regulars like Orange, Misericord, Rhutz and D-DAY 4-EVER. Yes, the times are changing, the venues are changing, we are changing... we are now members of The Dying Breed.

We are a new and young band that is hoping to give the music industry our talent and some good music. We just want to have fun and rock the world! We practice as much as we are able to get a perfect and good sounding performance. Music is going to be our life, and we hope that we entertain you in the best way possible!!

BIOGRAPHY

Five young guys. Packs of Passion. Fired up by music. Living the dream.
It’s an age old rock ‘n roll story, bent and twisted to the sounds of a new generation, pushing the boundaries of what is expected and testing the waters for a new league of rockers. If 6 Was 9 are a band bound by their love of the classics, inspired by the sounds of now and yet forging a new musical path.

Going SOLO...
It all started in July 2011. After being in a band for eight years and working in the music industry, going solo was something I had wanted to do for years and ...here we are! Indie/rock with a melodic backbone is a good way to describe the sound. To make music you love and love
playing, that is where I begin and end. It has been a long time coming...

Mostly slow, heavy and loud, but there's also some softer parts. No vocals.
