So it was like this you see...

There we were, all excited and ready for a weekend on the road filled with music and loose women, puddling steadily along in the old orange combi when the smoke began to billow from the exhaust.

Would we make it to Pringle Bay? We could only hope.

Then, just kilometers from our destination *choke, the combi died. Just DIED. We tried everything. Mouth to mouth, CPR, none of it worked. So we were forced to telephone ahead to Perigators and inform them of the situation. Lucky they sent someone to tow us the last few K's and we made in time for our gig which turned out to be loads of fun!

But then...

We still had to get home to Stanford.

It all started in July 2011. After being in a band for eight years and working in the music industry, going solo was something I had wanted to do for years and ...here we are! Indie/rock with a melodic backbone is a good way to describe the sound. To make music you love and love
playing, that is where I begin and end. It has been a long time coming...

Westley Engelbrecht (Acoustic guitar & Vocals) formed Acousticliquid as a side project to his band Torment in 2005. This was a way to show the world that he could perform softer hits as well as vibey cover songs for the masses and not only their usual metal ensemble that he succeeded with in Torment. On many occasions, Westley has performed as a solo act and covers songs from the 60’s to present, encompassing softer hits from bands such as Fleetwood Mac & U2 to contemporary hits from Nirvana, Seether & Pink Floyd all the way through to foot stomping songs such as “blister in the sun” by Violent Femmes & “kryptonite“ by 3doors down.

Shannon got a head start in the music scene when she started performing as one half of the Pretoria- based acoustic duo, Syrens at 16. Syrens went on to share stages with big name SA acts like The Awakening, Matthew van der Want and Chris Letcher, Kaolin Thomson and Anika.

Later, after Syrens went their separate ways, Shannon went to Europe where she tested the waters in London, busked the chilly streets of Galway, Ireland and spent two summers playing on the picturesque Greek island of Ios. 

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I am interested and play all types of music from classical to metal (not that they are so different). I am studying jazz guitar but am open to working in a pop or rock environment. I am able to do all kinds of session work from performance to studio and jingles. Call me to talk

MANOUE started as a studio project in 2009 and quickly grew into a now more formidable collection of songs. The focus is on production, composition and the fusion of various rock sounds in order to create fresh, innovative music which can serve a variety of markets through its versatility and energy.

The Gloucester Blues Project play a variety of old Muddy Waters style blues to more progressive blues/rock with influences ranging from the old blues greats such as John Lee Hooker, BB King, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton through to a rock legends, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
