LUX is an electro swing pop rock duo from SA and Paris France. The name LUX is an abbreviation of the 2 members names Lu and X. Both Lu and X are renowned artists in their own rights. Lu has been an entertainer for most of her life and has performed alongside big names such as "Fatboyslim", "The Stereo MC's", The "Audio Bullies" as well as "Goldfish" and "Flash Republic". She's travelled and performed in SA, Bali, Surabaya, Jakarta, Italy, Russia and Namibia.

Jamie will take you on a musical journey from fresh new acoustic material right through to his electric-loop-sonic journeys.

You might also encounter some surprise guests and certainly a whole bundle of instruments from mbira's, harmonica's, plastic pipes and more...watch this space...

World-class jazz musician Dan Shout hits the stage for Friday Nite LIVE!, while flamenco guitar expert Pierre Fourie works his magic on Saturday afternoon.

Guitar legend Steve Newman will be performing a tribute gig on Sunday November 4th at Bay Harbour Market to celebrate the life of renowned bassist Neil van der Walt.

Steve Newman needs no introduction for SA music-lovers. A stalwart of the South African music scene, he is a highly accomplished acoustic guitarist who has developed a massive following of loyal fans. Probably best known as a member of the ground-breaking band Tananas, Steve has shared the stage with the likes of Tony Cox, Wendy Oldfield and the late Gito Baloi.

It’s party time at the Bay Harbour Market this month as the unique venue celebrates its first birthday! To commemorate the occasion, the market is dishing up a host of specials as well as an exciting line-up of fresh talent, from tuneful trios to dynamic duos.

Taking to the Brampton Sound Stage on July 20 for Friday Nite LIVE! is accomplished Cape Town band the Roy Davids Trio. Comprised of talented session musician and drummer Roy Davids, experienced contra bass player Tino Europa and hip, fresh keyboard player Blake Hellaby, the trio are sure to create some groovy energy.

So it was like this you see...

There we were, all excited and ready for a weekend on the road filled with music and loose women, puddling steadily along in the old orange combi when the smoke began to billow from the exhaust.

Would we make it to Pringle Bay? We could only hope.

Then, just kilometers from our destination *choke, the combi died. Just DIED. We tried everything. Mouth to mouth, CPR, none of it worked. So we were forced to telephone ahead to Perigators and inform them of the situation. Lucky they sent someone to tow us the last few K's and we made in time for our gig which turned out to be loads of fun!

But then...

We still had to get home to Stanford.
