The Abbott Network

The Abbott Network is an
unique and captivating original ensemble that was created during 2009 in the
mother city of South Africa,
Cape Town. The
Abbott Network’s repertoire can be best described as fusion. You can
expect to
hear influence from across the globe with strong authentic rhythms and
soulful
melodic attributes. The band is predominantly a studio band that
composes and
records albums for public sales and broadcast. However, the
instrumentalists of the band are also known for performing live as the
backing band to solo
artist Lindiwe Suttle. This is where The Abbott Network jumps out the
studio and

Using the typical rock set up of a drummer, a bass player and two guitarists to create music that is anything but typical rock, kidofdoom on the surface appear to be a text book example of a post-rock band. Adding synths and a Theremin to the mix and applying a completely different aesthetic to usual post-rock.

Inspired by jazz greats Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong and more recently Sting & Michael Buble, Jazz Forte, brings you mood music at its best by infusing their unique take on timeless jazz standards with subtle contemporary flare.

Our Uniqueness

Jazz Forte gives audiences instantly recognizable melodies with Warren’s velvet vocals whereas the vast majority of jazz bands in Cape Town are purely instrumental.

Soldier

Soldier is a 3-piece light melodic rock band.

The core elements of the music are essentially the traditional rock instruments which are drums, bass, guitars, pianos and vocals.
The band started out in 2009 as a 2-piece acoustic outfit playing shows in the Cape Town area.
After gigging for about a year, the idea and sound evolved into a band called Movemusic, and then into a three-strong unit now under the new name of Soldier with the line-up being Mike Steyn (drums) , Jeremy Geyer(bass/guitars) Damian Jagjivan (vocals, pianos and guitars)

Influences include The Beatles, Pink Floyd, REM, Radiohead, Suede, Incubus, Foo Fighters and The Smiths to name a few.
