Shortcut Epic Birthday Bash

SHORTCUT is a Cape Town based, Film & Networking Event platform to showcase short film projects that are produced by South African Filmmakers. These consist of a variety of genres ranging from shorts, animation & anime, commercials, documentaries and music videos.

Shortcut offers a platform exchange for shared creativity and exposure to audiences and creative’s.  It also offers Filmmakers and their teams screening opportunities to a community at large, outside of a traditional cinema setting!!

We are looking for young aspiring artists to showcase their work!! :) Are you interested? If you are which I’m sure you would be, as this is a fantastic event to network with all the best people in the industry and get some exposure!!

SHORTCUT is a Cape Town based, Film & Networking Event platform to showcase short film projects that are produced by South African Filmmakers. These consist of a variety of genres ranging from shorts, animation & anime, commercials, documentaries and music videos.  They are usually independantly based projects, produced by filmmakers of various backgrounds and professions. This means they can be Professional (working within the film industry), a Student or a Newcomer to filmmaking.

Shortcut offers a platform exchange for shared creativity and exposure to audiences and creatives.  It also offers Filmmakers and their teams screening opportunites to a community at large, outside of a traditional cinema setting.

Each event is uniquely conceptualised and presented through production design, costumes, entertainment acts and featured guests. A showcasing of music (ie. live music performance or dj’s) combined with visual artistry (veejaying) also takes place before the screening. Choice of venue also adds to the experience of each event.

Since the launch event in September 2009, we have held seven events in the past year, with more to follow this October 2010. One of the recent events was a Workshop in collaboration with the PUMA Kehinde Wiley Exhibition, held in June/July.

The Shortcut vision is to link into global platforms  and represent SA Filmmakers through festival screenings and distribution.
