HOW DO I FIND MY PAGE ON OVERTONE?

If you are looking for your pages on Overtone then simply click the link to update your previous content (found on the home page if you log in)

OR..

You can browse the respective directory to find your page.

Once you find and open your page or listing you can find your address at the top of the page.

If you are looking for a band page then the address will most likely be:

http://www.overtone.co.za/band/YOUR_BAND_NAME

You check to see that your page address has not changed since the last time you edited your page as the overtone structure may change from time to time.

If you edit ot update your pages it can change the address that your page is found on.

HOW DO I FIND MY PAGES - WHATS MY ADDRESS ?

If you used to locate your band page on an address which looks like:

http://www.overtone.co.za/MY_BAND_PAGE

your new address will be as follows:

http://www.overtone.co.za/band/MY_BAND_PAGE

This is so that our listings are better organised and this will result in more traffic on the website.. and for your pages.

If you have a DJ, MUSICIAN or any other type of page then your page address will follow a similar pattern.

etc..

If you are still having problems locating your content simply click
the MY CONTENT link on the left sidebar once you are logged in and you
will be able to navigate you your content and view its address
directly.

HOW DO I LINK TO MY OVERTONE PAGES?

If you are trying to raise awareness of your Overtone pages a good way is to add links back to Overtone from your existing websites and other social networks.

Simply navigate to the page that you would like to link your readers to.

Once you are looking at the page you want others to find simply coppy the link as shown in the address bar.It should look like this:

http://www.overtone.co.za/band/YOUR_BAND_PAGE_TITLE

COPY THIS LINK - right click and copy this link.

Pase this link on all your other websites.

If the other website does not automatically turn this link into a clickable link for you.. then you will need to do the following.

Using the address of your page on Overton .. simply insert it into the following section as indicated and then copy the whole code section into your website.

HOW DO I ADD MUSIC, NEWS or EVENTS TO MY LISTING PAGES?

Once you have added a listing page to Overtone it is automaticaly listed in the categories you select.

It will also be added to any KEYWORD listings and Feeds that you indicate.

Simply click the ADD EVENT, ADD NEWS or ADD AUDIO or MUSIC links and your new content will automatically be associated and displayed on your listing pages.

NOTE

If you have multiple directory listing pages the your NEWS and EVENTS AND AUDIO will appear on all of them..

If you want to seperate your content for different bands or companies then you will need to create additional Overtone accounts.

You dont need to have a LISTING PAGE to add news or events.. so if your have lots to say or want to promote events in your area then simply add them in ..

Please check that you have the VENUES or BANDS permission ..if we get a complaint we will just delete your account and content.

HOW DO I EDIT OR DELETE MY CONTENT PAGES?

Managing your content on Overtone is easy.

Simply click the MANAGE CONTENT link on the left..

Locate the content that you would like to edit or delete and click the buton.

You will have to confirm that you want to delete content as as safety measure.

You can edit any of your content by following the same process or by navigating to your page and following the EDIT tab at the top of that page.

remember to cick SAVE or UPDATE.

Add keywords and images keep your content fresh.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY OTHER WEBSITES BY RSS?

UPDATE YOUR NEWS AUTOMATICALLY - SAVE TIME

RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication.. it enables other websites to grab your OVERTONE content and to automatically add it to their pages.

This can save you masses of time and effort.. so set it up and then you will only have to add your content once on Overtone and still have it automatically added to all your other websites. 

(Your basic RSS links are located on the left if you are signed in)

CUSTOM CONTENT FEEDS - KEYWORD FEEDS

You can also create and manage custom feeds that are associated with keywords that you add to your content.

This is one of the most powerfull features of OVERTONE.

An example of this would be for events.. you can create an RSS feed of all events that happen for your BAND or for a partcular VENUE by grabbing the feed for that KEYWORD..You could also create a feed of larger keywords like ROCK, or MUSIC  etc.

Find a listed Keyword.. or add a keyword to your content as you create it and this will automattically be associated with that feed .

To find the correct RSS feed links for that keyword simply click the keyword to see all the listings that have been associated with it.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and then click the RSS link icon .. this will take you to that particular feed..

To ADD RSS to your site simply search for info abbout RSS and see that your site accepts it.
