A Midweek FYI

I thought long and hard about this one and in the end decided that the significance of the occasion outweighed my contempt for the artist.

It seems that for the first time in the entire 5000 year history of the planet, in a place where dinosaurs and arks were once features of the same landscape, an iTunes single has broken into the Billboard Top 10. Gizmodo has more as I can’t bring myself to mention the names of those involved.

What this does exhibit though is the growing popularity of digital music and may serve as a persuasive tap on the shoulder to major labels who continue to view the online channel as a threat rather than the medium that will ultimately save their businesses.
