The First Burning Man was my boyfriend; a nocturnal web developer who hisses when he comes into contact with daylight. The Second Burning Man was a nude cyclist, making determined circuits of the shimmering campsite while tiny butt cheeks became progressively pinker.

| This happened to a lot of people at Rocking the Daisies 2008, and it may have happened to you. You’re lying there, perhaps taking a recharging power-nap at 3am, when you hear a rustling at the door of the tent, followed by a careless zipping sound. Then, an unfamiliar voice grunts and you feel a ‘WHUMP!’ as some stranger collapses into your tent, and responds to your surprised ‘uh…excuse me?’ in one of two ways: blind terror or blind oblivion.
