The end of World War II, marked the beginning of a new era, one filled with Doo Wops and Rock ‘n Roll. Wow what an exciting time! A time when the future looked optimistic and Americans were bursting with optimism.

This exciting era marked the birth of unforgettable groups like the Platters and the Temptations. Other Doo Wop groups like the Crew Cuts, named after the famous hair style, became popular with hits like “Sh’boom” and “Earth Angel”. Female groups like the Shirelles and the Chordettes with their rendition of “Lollipop”, also featured.

If you enjoyed artists like the Platters, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Nat King Cole, Ritchie Valens, Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin, then this Fabulous show is for you! Musical performers, Kerry Lee Cherry, Jaziel Vaugh’hann and Praline Ross (nee Joyce) provide a spectacular interpretation of the evolution of male and female groups from the Fabulous 50’s to the current Kings and Queens of the Music World. Some artists like Aretha Franklin, who became famous in the 50’s are still performing today.

Recording artist, Jaziel Vaugh’hann (the only male in the cast) who released his début album, “Heaven only Knows”, earlier this year, teams up with Kerry Lee Cherry, former Idols Contestant, who featured on Verd Eaton’s cd with his hit song “Baby” that won a SA Music Award and made number 1 on East Coast Radio and Praline Ross (nee Joyce), who is known to work by day and sing like an Angel by night. This performer has been involved in theatre, from a young age and received her ATCL Associate from the Trinity College of London. She has been known to “lull guests into a tranquil mood” through her music and was one of the local support acts in 2007, selected to perform at the ICC Durban Arena with George Benson and Al Jarreau performing on the same night.

This trio is bound to capture the hearts and minds of music lovers across the board, featuring songs like “Only You”, “Sh’boom”, “Goodnight Sweetheart” and “When you tell me that you love me”.

This not to be missed show runs from 3rd-5th September 2010 and 10th -12th September 2010 at Durban’s very own Rhumbelow Theatre. So don’t be faint…be Fabulous!!!
