The Tribute To SA Music Heroes Concert is thirteen years old, and continues to bring top class local entertainment to South African music lovers!

Presented at Moretele Park in Mamelodi on Sunday, 29 August 2010, and staged by Drakensberg Promotions, the 13th anniversary wishes to extend an invitation to the many thousands of Tribute Concert fans across South Africa to come celebrate the second decade of this remarkable entertainment event.

Also, the Tribute Concert 2010 is proud to announce itself a platform for South Africa’s Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM).

The MRM’s vision is to strive for a healthy, caring and harmonious society guided by the basic human values enshrined in the constitution (with particular reference to communal, spiritual and socio-economic development). The movement’s mission is to facilitate, encourage and co-ordinate programmes in every sector as a measure to restoring the moral fibre of the nation.
The origin of the Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) dates back to a meeting between President Nelson Mandela and key South African religious leaders in June 1997. At that meeting, the President said: “Our hopes and dreams, at times, seem to be overcome by cynicism, self-centredness and fear. This spiritual malaise shows itself as a lack of good spirit, as pessimism, or lack of hope and faith. And from it emerges the problems of greed and cruelty, of laziness and egotism, of personal and family failure. It both helps fuel the problems of crime and corruption and hinders our efforts to deal with them.”
Featuring a line-up of South Africa’s most popular superstars, Tribute 2010 continues a proud tradition of ‘showcasing the best of the best in a programme packed with powerful performances’:

• Hugh Masekela
• Letta Mbulu
• Lucky Dube’s Band
• Ringo Madlingozi
• Lira
• Ntando
• Thandiswa Mazwai
• Jaziel Brothers
• Theo Kgosinkwe
• Big Nuz
• Mango Groove
• Don Laka
• Plus: seven development bands

Gates open at 9 am. Tickets at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers; NO tickets are on sale at the gates.
